La Seigneurie Cheese

In the early days of the colony, towards the end of the 17th century, the inhabitants of "La Seigneurie du Lac-des-deux-montagnes" worked hard at adapting to their new reality. They produced their own food and adopted many of the cultural and technical elements of the surrounding Native populations. Before long, these proud farmers attempted to reproduce the familiar tastes of their mother land using ingredients from their new surroundings. This era marks the beginning of a local cheesemaking trade where passion and innovation lead to the development of new and different products, inspired by the millennial traditions of the old country. Our new Seigneurie cheese is rooted in this home-grown tradition.
