Discover the Champfleury cheese family

Champfleury is a washed rind soft ripened fine cheese that has the interior texture of a double crème brie enveloped in a delicious copper orangey rind. The poppy featured on the packaging, with its beautiful vibrant red petals brightens up the Mediterranean basin at the beginning the summer. Symbolizing life, joy and happiness, the poppy appears on many impressionist paintings, such as those of Claude Monet.

The striking, bright colours of the poppy field that each year grace the French countryside are also a reminder of the French (Normandie) inspiration for this fine cheese.

Each year, about 18 million poppies are distributed in communities across Canada. Officially adopted by Canada in 1921 by the Great War Veterans Association (the predecessor of the Royal Canadian Legion), poppies are recognized as the national symbol of remembrance of the 117 000 men and women who have served our country in wartime and in peacetime.
